Nov. 15: AI Policy and Stakeholder Tracking Report

Driving The Day

Today is November 15, 2023, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: AI is on the agenda in San Francisco, where President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are expected to establish a formal channel for AI talks between the two countries. Meanwhile, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo argued for AI guardrails “at every layer of the food chain in AI from the very smallest company to the very biggest of companies.” In Washington, Sen. John Thune and bipartisan co-sponsors introduced a new AI regulatory bill that would require companies to self-certify compliance with certain standards. In Argentina, both presidential candidates are using generative AI to persuade voters.
