In state capitals, lawmakers are increasingly proposing impact assessments as a policy tool to prevent potential AI harms. Despite increasing political scrutiny of Chinese investments in U.S. firms, some AI startups are raising capital from Chinese investors. Finally, Meta announced it will require political advertisers on their platforms to disclose if AI was used to create an ad, and Scale announced the opening of an AI safety lab.
