Today is November 5, 2024, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: Axios discussed the post-election landscape for federal AI policymaking, arguing the White House and Congress will struggle to find “common ground.” Meta announced it will now allow the U.S. government to use its AI models for military purposes, which the company hopes will “promote global security and help establish the U.S. in the global race for AI leadership.” At the same time, Scale AI discussed a new large language model for military and national security officials that it fine-tuned on top of Meta’s Llama 3 model.
