Today is March 6, 2025, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: Tech Policy Press published a round-up of President Trump’s tech policy comments during his address on Tuesday night. In China, officials announced a new “state venture capital guidance fund” that will invest in AI and other emerging technologies and "is expected to attract nearly 1 trillion yuan ($138 billion) in capital over 20 years." Lastly, Dan Hendrycks with the Center for AI Safety and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt suggested superintelligent AI could create a deterrence dynamic between countries similar to the nuclear deterrence framework known as mutually assured destruction.
