Mar. 21: AI Policy and Stakeholder Tracking Report

Driving The Day

Today is March 21, 2024, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: In Washington, two Democratic senators introduced a bill that would require companies to get permission from consumers before training an AI model on their data. Meanwhile, a new proposal in the House of Representatives would require online platforms to label AI-generated content. In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) administration released guidance for the use of AI in state agencies. In Tennessee, Gov. Bill Lee (R) signed legislation that would restrict AI replicas of an individual's voice, image, and likeness without their consent. Lastly, the United Nations passed a U.S.-led resolution on AI.
