Today is July 25, 2024, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: In New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy (D) signed legislation that will provide “up to $500 million in tax credits for artificial intelligence companies to set up shop in the state.” Meta’s independent oversight board recommended the company update its rules to better address the spread of sexually explicit AI content on its social media platforms. Meanwhile, the Center for Data and Innovation recommended AI policy priorities for incoming European policymakers. Lastly, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman authored an op-ed explaining what the United States should do to “ensure the creation of a world shaped by a democratic vision for AI.”
