Driving The Day

Today is December 22, 2023, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: In Washington, Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) and Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif) are introducing a bill that would require AI developers to meet certain transparency standards for their AI models. Several state legislatures will consider proposed bills in the upcoming legislative session to regulate the use of AI in elections, including restrictions on the use of deepfakes. Meanwhile, several more authors, including some Pulitzer Prize winners, have joined an existing lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI alleging the companies violated copyright rules by training their AI models on the authors’ works.
