Driving The Day

Today is December 13, 2023, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: In Washington, the U.S. Department of Energy launched an office to coordinate investments in emerging technologies like AI. Meanwhile, cabinet members and other officials met for the White House AI Council’s first meeting, where the discussion covered topics like safety, fraud, discrimination, and privacy. Across the pond, the U.K.’s Digital Secretary told a parliamentary committee that rushing to regulate AI could stifle innovation.
