Today is December 10, 2024, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: In Washington, White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients suggested there will be an AI-related policy announcement before President Biden leaves office. Meanwhile, the U.S. House of Representatives’ bipartisan AI task force will soon release a report featuring “very detailed” policy recommendations, according to task force chair Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA). Finally, several labor, social justice, privacy, and consumer advocacy organizations sent a joint letter to Colorado policymakers recommending how the state should implement SB 205, an AI bill focused on algorithmic discrimination signed into law this year.
