Today is August 26, 2024, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: A policy expert recommended the U.S. government regulate AI like it does the electricity grid, relying on an industry association to set and enforce reliability standards. OpenAI is supporting a California bill that “would require tech companies to label AI-generated content.” Meanwhile, the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation argued China may soon surpass “the United States’ capabilities” in AI technology.
