Today is April 3, 2024, and here are the key policymaker and stakeholder actions on AI you need to know: In Washington, Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA) and Rep. Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) introduced a bill requiring the Department of Homeland Security to report to Congress how the agency could use AI and other emerging technology to secure the border better. To ensure EU member states can meet the AI Act's implementation deadlines, the European Commission's digital unit is urging EU member state governments to appoint the regulators who will be the primary enforcers of the AI Act in their countries well ahead of the 12 month deadline for doing so.
